Hi, I’m Tameeka — a wife, a mum, and a proud dog mum. After years working in business development and education within the beauty industry, my most important (and most transformative) role began in 2023 when I became a mother. It was empowering, humbling, and like so many parents will tell you — it completely shifted the way I see the world.

The idea for Miika Mai was born in those blurry, beautiful early months of motherhood. I still remember being 36 weeks pregnant, watching two couples walk into the hospital — one with a massive suitcase, the other with a tiny tote. I looked at my husband and thought, “We’re not prepared.” Despite all my research, I couldn’t find the bag — one that was both functional and stylish, one that could grow with me through every chapter of motherhood.

When my son was three months old, it finally clicked. I didn’t just need a better bag — I wanted to create one. A bag that works as hard as you do. A bag that takes you from labour and hospital stays, to nappy changes, toddler snacks, and eventually weekend getaways.
